Juliet Lodge is Director of the Jean Monnet European Centre of Excellence, Institute for Communication Studies, University of Leeds, UK where she is Professor of European Union politics and European Integration. European Woman of Europe 1992, her research focuses on issues of transparency and accountability in territorial and non-territorial space. She has written numerous books on EU politics, and on EU responses to international terrorism. She is series editor of the Euro-elections to the European Parliament for Palgrave; has published extensively on EU reform, openness, internal security, pillar III and e-judicial cooperation. Co-convenor of the eJustice ethics committee in the UK, she has contributed to EU publications on biometrics and accountability, openness, Euratom, and the Hague programme and the draft Constitution.
