Since June 1998 Eric Davie has been a freelance information provider, specialising in EU documentation. Trading as European Information Services, he researches, writes and edits a variety of materials (newsletters, articles, guides) for a range of clients, which include - or have included - the British Council, Croner, the European Commission, the European Information Association, the European Institute of Public Administration, Proquest, the University of Leeds, and Dod’s Parliamentary Communications
Eric Davies also provides training in understanding the EU and its documentation, has created a number of websites (e.g. http://www.lightoneurope.com, http://www.eia.org.uk, http://www.leeds.ac.uk/jmce) and compiled and edited the 7th edition of Eurojargon: a dictionary of European Union acronyms, abbreviations and terminology, published in 2004 by the European Information Association.
Prior to turning freelance, he managed the European Documentation Centre at the University of Hull, and established and managed the North Wales office of the Wales Euro Info Centre.
