The sociological study is based on an empirical inquiry among eastern-german voters in the region of Sachsen-Anhalt. Il intends to show the social visions of voters as a contribution to the comprehension of extreme right-wing motivations, such as seen in the regional elections of Sachsen-Anhalt since 2000.
One of the questionnaires concerns the perception of disadvanteged social groups; and in this frame the main question is «which group must receive more sympathy from the community»? 86% of all voters answer : «victims of crimes», 36% «women», 19% «homosexuals», and only 10% «migrants». The strong position of the extreme right movements seems to correspond to this kind of social hierarchy, which shows that it should not be reduced to a «protest» vote.
