CHALLENGE, «The Changing Landscape of European Liberty and Security», is a European Commission-funded project that seeks to facilitate a more responsive and responsible assessment of rules and practices of security. It examines the implications of these practices for civil liberties, human rights and social cohesion in an enlarged Europe.

This conference will represent a unique opportunity to launch publicly CHALLENGE research project as well as to open a discussion on the changing dynamic of security in an enlarged EU. It will also bring about a dialogue between policy makers, practitioners, academics and civil society on this most sensitive and timely issues.
