Abstract:

Dr. Esther Barbé is Professor of International Relations at the Department of International Relations at Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, and Director of the Observatory of European Foreign Policy at the University Institute of European Studies, Spain. She is also Director of the Ph Program in International Relations and European Integration of the same institution. Her research interests focus on EU foreign policy, specially the security dimension; Spanish foreign policy; and Mediterranean affairs.

She is member of the Steering Group of the European Foreign Policy Research Network (FORNET) and member of the project The Changing Landscape of European Liberty and Security (CHALLENGE),financed by the Vth and VIth Framework Programs of European Union, respectively.
