Monday 19 May 2008, by European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia

imprimer

This report focuses on discrimination against migrants and minorities in housing in 15 Member States of the European Union. It finds that in different Member States there are similar mechanisms of exclusion, discrimination in housing of migrants and minorities. According to the report integration in this field can become politicised, and it is not enough justified that involuntary special mixing would be appropriate for integration. As the report states, even so there were positive developments, such as strengthening the anti-discrimination legislation, still there were cases when the public authorities did not address appropriately the discrimination of minorities and migrants.
