Seminar on Multilevel protection of Fundamental Rights in the EU

«On 19 September FRA, the Committee of the Regions and Reggio Emilia held a seminar on Multi-level protection of fundamental rights in the EU in Reggio Emilia.

Local and regional dimension is crucial to the fulfillment of the European Charter’s of Fundamental Rights goals. This seminar looked at the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and its implications for local and regional authorities, the role of local and regional authorities in protecting and promoting fundamental rights and examined more closely specific responsibility of local and regional authorities for the implementation of rights of the child through their decentralised competences within their member states.»
