Venue : Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), Place du Congrès 1, B-1000 Brussels – Conference Room
Dates: 9 and 10 December 2008
The Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) is organizing, in collaboration with the European Economic and Social Committee (SOC Section) and the European Network Against Racism (ENAR) a two-day Conference on The Future European Policy on Immigration, Borders and Asylum: Giving a Voice to Civil Society . This event will take place on the 9th and 10th December 2008 at CEPS (Place du Congrès, 1 - 1000 Brussels).
The role of civil society, NGOs and the social partners is of utmost importance in order to ensure that the common EU immigration, borders and asylum policy take on board social realities and needs. Civil society needs to be given a real voice in the policy processes leading to the next multi-annual programme related to an AFSJ, and particularly in the setting up of the general guiding principles that will shape its development in the years to come.
The Conference aims at providing an opportunity for civil society actors to present and exchange views with policy makers and academics on the current and future development of European Policy in these domains. The event falls within the framework of CHALLENGE - The Changing Landscape of European Liberty and Security, a five-year research project funded by the Sixth Framework Research Programme of the Directorate-General for Research of the European Commission.
You may find below the Programme and the Registration Form for this conference. In case that you would be interested in attending, please send the Registration Form before the 5 December to Ms. Anaïs Faure Atger via email to anais.faure-atger@ceps.eu or by fax: 0032-02-2194151.
