CHALLENGE is a research project funded by the Sixth Framework Programme of DG Research of the European Commission. It has involved 23 universities and research centres from all across Europe. CHALLENGE has run for a period of five years and is now coming to an end. The event aims at presenting the final results of the project as well as discussing them with academics, EU officials and practitioners.
In parallel to the Conference, CEPS and DG Research are organizing a CHALLENGE Art Exhibition and a Reception in the evening of 18 May 2009 inside the Berlaymont building (1st Floor ) of the European Commission at 18.30 . A Keynote Speech will be delivered by a representative of DG Research. The artists represented have sought to provide a space for exploring the contested terrain on which liberty and security are approached in a context that is being framed by discourses of threat and danger. The Exhibition (which will last from the 18 May until the 29 May) will feature the works of the following artists: Charlesworth, Lewandowski & Mann / Charlie Coffey / Richard Hards / Ilias Poulos and Mark Titchner. The poster of the exhibition is attached to this email.
