Tweede voortgangsrapportage terrorismebestrijding

In a letter of 10 June 2005, the Ministers of Justice and Interiors report on the progress of the fight against terrorism in the Netherlands. According to the government, it would be necessary to extend the powers of officials in the fight against terrorism. A new proposal on the prevention, pursuit, and prosecution of terrorist crimes (‘voorkoming, opsporing en vervolging van terroristische misdrijven’) has been send for advice to the Dutch Council of State. The government investigates the possibility to bar television - and radio networks disseminating hate (‘ haatzaaiende televisie- en radiozenders’). The government prepares as well a draft proposal on the criminalisation of the justification or glorification of terrorist crimes and on the possibility to expel somebody from certain offices.
