Conference: Immigration, Liberty and Security from a Comparative Perspective

Conference Program : Immigration, Liberty and Security from a Comparative Perspective

Co-organized by the Challenge Framework Programme (hosted at the CERI) and the Immigration and Security initiative Network (CEVIPOF/Sciences Po), this conference aims at gathering high level members of the government and parliament, high profile civil servants of national and European institutions, members of NGOs and European and North American academics to discuss immigration and integration policies, border controls, fight against terrorism. Structured around four round tables, this conference day will focus on the definition of threats and dangers, the changing security practices, the role of judges and the infringement of some civil liberties, as well as their justifications, to assess their legitimacy.
