The part of precarious forms of labour, the so called «bad jobs», increased rapidly in Germany during the last ten years, from 15% to 26% of all jobs. While the number of employed persons grew (mostly due to a high number of pensioners), it appears in the same time that bad jobs replaced traditionnal, stable jobs.

The report, based on the official statistics of the german federal office and the work of the Research Center Berlin (WZB), shows the fundamental relationship between the number of persons able to work, active people and the unemployed in Germany. The coincidence of growing bad jobs and downgrowing unemployement does not mean that there is any logical link betweenn the two phenomena.
