Vladimir Špidla in his speech on the occasion of the launch of the Black European Women’s Council highlighted that the social inclusion of ethnic minorities is a priority for the European Union and the Commission is «firmly committed to creating an inclusive society in which everyone, irrespective of race, ethnic origin or gender, can achieve their full potential.» Women from ethnic minorities often face multiple discrimination that makes for them difficult to integrate.
