  The report presents a global overview of the European Union’s main strategies, policies and actions to anticipate change and tackle the negative effects of restructuring, that is to say when companies, industries and economic sectors are reorganised. It is the first of a series of regular reports dedicated to analysing restructuring processes and their effects on jobs.

• Demography Report 2008 : Meeting Social Needs in an Ageing Society

  The 2008 Demography Report published by the European Commission presents the latest data in respect of demographic situation in Europe, the changing family and household patterns in EU and the challenges and opportunities in an ageing society. It provides information also on the preparedness of Europe to adapt to the demographic change. The report was presented at the second European Demography Forum on 24-25 November 2008 in Brussels.
