These policies lay at the heart of every citizen’s expectations. This Policy Brief presents ten key issues and policy recommendations for the political parties and their campaign manifestos, in relation to borders, asylum, immigration, data protection and criminal justice.

    La question du droit au regroupement familial occupe une place majeure dans les problèmes posés par l’immigration. Affirmé dès 1961 par la Communauté européenne, ce droit a été progressivement précisé et étendu pour aboutir à l’ensemble actuel de règles, en 2003 et 2004. Les conditions dans lesquelles les ressortissants de pays tiers vivant dans un Etat membre peuvent faire valoir leur droit au regroupement familial concernent notamment leur résidence, l’existence de ressources suffisantes et régulières, auxquelles s’ajoutent les exigences de chaque pays en particulier.
