  • Blears outlines tough new anti-terror laws

    18 July 2005
The UK plans new anti-terror laws that would create criminal offences of inciting terrorism and of giving and receiving terrorist techniques. Home Office minister Hazel Blears has confirmed intentions to introduce an offence of ’acts preparatory to terrorism’ and another one of incitement to terrorism. Incitement to terrorism - previously supported by the Conservatives but rejected by the Government - would apply to both public and private statements.
