    Avec l’entrée dans l’UE de la Bulgarie et de la Roumanie, les Roms sont devenus la plus importante minorité ethnique d’Europe. On estime ŕ huit ŕ dix millions les Roms qui y vivent. Sur le papier, ce sont des citoyens d’Europe ŕ part entičre ; pourtant, leur situation sociale et politique reste précaire.

    Following the accession to the EU of Bulgaria and Romania the gypsies or Roma have become Europe’s largest ethnic minority. An estimated eight to ten million Roma live here – most of them in Eastern Europe. While on paper they enjoy the same rights as other citizens, their social and political situation remains precarious.
