  • On the European Readiness for Flexicurity

    10 November 2008
The Fourth European Working Conditions Survey (European Foundation 2007) is used to investigate the readiness of Europe to flexicurity labour market reforms proposed by the European Commission. For this purpose, composite indicators of flexibility, precariousness and decentness of work are constructed with the OECD and the scientifical institute of the german unions HBS (Hans Boeckler Stiftung).
  • Flexicurity. Response to the European Commissions Green Paper

    4 December 2007
The paper takes part on a public debate that the EU Commission started throughout its Green Paper about flexicurity and the change of labour laws . The author is associated to the scientific foundation of the german Unionism DGB. The response both critical remarks on and constructive suggestions too the Green paper. The default assumption that relaxing labour laws can be compensated by some advances in flexicurity is criticised with empirical evidence.
