This pilot study on migrants’ experiences of discrimination is based on country studies conducted between 2002 and 2005 in Belgium, Germany, Greece, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Austria, Portugal and UK. According to the study in all these countries migrants subjectively experience discriminatory practices to a significant extent.

The object of this Treaty is to establish a European Gendarmerie Force, which shall be operational, pre-organised, robust, and rapidly deployable, exclusively comprising elements of police forces with military status of the Parties, in order to perform all police tasks within the scope of crisis management operations.

This resolution contains conclusions and recommendations, highlighting positive developments but also a number of areas where further measures are needed to advance the implementation of the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities.

Le Parlement a adopté un rapport portant sur le transfert automatisé de profils ADN, de fichiers d’empreintes digitales et d’immatriculations de véhicules dans le cadre de la discussion commune sur la coopération transfrontière en matière de lutte contre le terrorisme et la criminalité. L’avis du Parlement est en l’espèce consultatif, mais les députés souhaitent modifier la base juridique utilisée, afin que le Conseil ne puisse passer outre ses recommandations à la majorité qualifiée.

La Commission européenne contre le racisme et l’intolérance (ECRI), organe du Conseil de l’Europe spécialisé dans la lutte contre le racisme, publie aujourd’hui cinq nouveaux rapports sur le racisme, la xénophobie, l’antisémitisme et l’intolérance concernant l’Arménie, la Géorgie, l’Islande, le Portugal et la Slovénie. L’ECRI constate une évolution positive dans l’ensemble de ces cinq pays membres du Conseil de l’Europe.

The Council of Europe’s expert body on combating racism, the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI), today released five new reports examining racism, xenophobia, antisemitism and intolerance in Armenia, Georgia, Iceland, Portugal and Slovenia. ECRI recognises that positive developments have occurred in all five of these Council of Europe member countries.
